The Rich Young Man (Mk 10:17-30; Lk 18:18-30)
16 ○Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"
17 ○"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
18 ○"Which ones?" the man inquired. Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,
19 honor your father and mother,'4) and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'5) "
20 ○"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"
21 ○Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
22 ○When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23 ○Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
25 ○When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"
26 ○Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

부자 젊은이(막 10:17-31; 눅 18:18-30)
16 ○그런데 한 사람이 다가와서 예수께 말하였다. "선생님, 내가 영생을 얻으려면, 무슨 선한 일을 해야 합니까?"
17 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "어찌하여 너는 나에게, 선한 일을 묻느냐? 선한 분은 오직 한 분뿐이시다. 네가 생명에 들어가고자 하거든, 계명들을 지켜라."
18 그러자 그는 예수께 "어느 계명들입니까?" 하고 물었다. 예수께서 말씀하셨다. "3)'살인하지 말아라, 간음하지 말아라, 도둑질하지 말아라, 거짓으로 증언하지 말아라,
19 부모를 공경하여라.' 그리고 4)'네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하여라' 하는 계명들이 있지 않으냐?"
20 그 젊은이가 예수께 말하였다. "나는 5)이 모든 것을 다 지켰습니다. 아직도 무엇이 부족합니까?"
21 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "네가 완전한 사람이 되고자 하거든, 가서 네 소유를 팔아서, 가난한 사람에게 주어라. 그리하면, 네가 하늘에서 보화를 차지하게 될 것이다. 그리고 와서, 나를 따라라."
22 그러나 그 젊은이는 이 말씀을 듣고, 근심하면서 떠나갔다. 그에게는 재산이 많았기 때문이다.
23 ○예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하시기를 "내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 부자는 하늘 나라에 들어가기가 어렵다.
24 내가 다시 너희에게 말한다. 부자가 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것보다 낙타가 바늘귀로 지나가는 것이 더 쉽다" 하시니,
25 제자들이 이 말씀을 듣고, 매우 놀라서 "그러면, 누가 구원을 받을 수 있겠습니까?" 하고 말하였다.
26 예수께서 그들을 눈여겨 보시고, 말씀하셨다. "사람은 이 일을 할 수 없으나, 하나님은 무슨 일이나 다 하실 수 있다."
